Dr. Carter Featured in Baylor IT Services Article
Dr. Carter, Dr. Waymire, and Isuru Gunarathna were recently interviewed by IT services here at Baylor for our use with our High-Performance Computing System, Kodiak.

Dr. Carter wrote a perspective for Science Magazine!
Dr. Carter was recently invited to write a perspective in genomics for Science Magazine titled "Genomic clues into the spread of deadly mosquitoes." Graduate student Edom Seyoum took this wonderful photo of an Aedes mosquito here in the insectary at Baylor, and it was selected to be featured in the article!

Isuru Travels to Ethiopia!

Graduate student Isuru recently took a trip to visit our collaborators at Jigjiga University. While there, Isuru worked with collaborators and learned how to collect larvae and adult mosquitoes! He also gave a talk at Jigjiga University about phylogenetic analysis.

The Carter Lab, Pitts Lab and Sim Lab go to the Texas6VectorMix
Members of the Carter Lab, the Pitts Lab, and the Sim Lab traveled to Texas A&M for the biennial Texas6VectorMix Conference where students and Professors can present their research. Isuru gave an oral presentation and Elizabeth presented a poster with undergraduate Avery.

Isuru and Liz passed their candidacy exams, and are now PhD Candidates!

Jeanne presented a talk at the annual American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in November of 2022. She discussed her results using ddRAD to study diversity of An. stephensi in eastern Ethiopia and beyond to try to find diversity patterns.
